I’m Chris W Hendricks, a Software Engineer who lives somewhere between cloud architecture, AI experiments, and whatever AWS service just came out five minutes ago. I get way too excited about building systems that actually make sense, and I’ve accepted that CDK will always have my heart no matter how loudly Terraform fans shout.

If you catch me choosing a front-end framework, it’s React every time. Life is too short for Angular-induced headaches. I function as both a chaos gremlin and a systems whisperer. Give me a problem and I’ll solve it, or accidentally create five new ones while chasing down the original. Either way, progress happens. After twenty-one years in public safety software, I’ve learned a lot about resilient systems and even more about stubborn determination.

Outside the world of code, I’m an avid boater, a bowler of questionable consistency, and the exhausted ringleader of five kids and two dogs (ok so my wife is the ringleader, I take my orders from her).

I love fishing, movies, board games, and the rare quiet moment that pairs nicely with a good bourbon. My faith keeps me grounded, and my priorities are simple: God, family, country.

This blog is where I share ideas, talk about ADHD as both a challenge and a superpower, and unpack the odd therapy session that is writing software. If something here helps another engineer, sparks curiosity, or makes someone feel less alone in the chaos, then the whole thing is worth it
